This site will detail my views for the public for my run for the City Council in 2009 in Northwest Queens (District 26) as an Independent Candidate. I hope this site serves the interest of the community in offering a choice outside of the candidates traditionally anointed by the Republican and Democratic Parties. Enjoy!With New York City being the most populous of all cities in the United States, the difficulty of properly responding to the needs of individual boroughs and communities increases. Queens, for example, would be one of the largest cities in America if it were an independent entity unto itself. Further, we are blessed in New York City, particularly in Queens and Brooklyn, with Borough Presidents that have the capabilties to recognize deficiencies and implement solutions to borough-wide problems. As a City Council Member, I will propose changes to the City Charter which will increase the executive power and budgetary capacity of Borough Presidents, and explore with these officials ways in which each borough can respond to its particular needs.
